    Senior Backend Developer · No Hesi

    Building the subscription, pricing and content platform for a sim-racing multiplayer community: Node.js backend, headless CMS and SvelteKit website.

    key contributions

    • Designed a CMS-driven pricing system: site prices and A/B test price grids are managed in Payload CMS, validated against Stripe on save, and served to checkout by the backend with a last-known-good fallback.
    • Built Stripe subscription workflows: Checkout, trials, gift subscriptions, upgrades and downgrades, Customer Portal configurations and card recovery.
    • Implemented server-side A/B testing with GrowthBook for prices, pages and cancellation retention flows; the backend assigns each visitor a price grid, pins it to the account and records exposures itself, and visitors without analytics consent stay outside tests.
    • Built purchase attribution and experiment metrics: experiment, variant, tier and purchase page stored in Stripe metadata, and metrics computed in BigQuery straight from Stripe data, including a first-year value projection per price grid.
    • Moved Stripe webhooks and GA4 delivery to pg-boss job queues in PostgreSQL: retries, per-customer ordering across instances and one job per external send.
    • Migrated the blog and marketing pages from Strapi to Payload CMS with a block library, live preview, redirects and default-deny access control.
    • Verified purchase flows end to end with Playwright and Stripe test mode; backed services with Jest and Vitest suites.
